Tom Ritchey has been riding off-road and riding far – and designing products for such adventures - decades before anyone thought to call it “gravel riding” or “bikepacking.” His real-life experiences directly inform every product made by Ritchey – such as the beloved VentureMax handlebar. With its short reach, shallow drop and purposeful flare, the original VentureMax offers comfort and confidence to legions of riders looking to settle in and have some fun on those dirty drop bar adventures.
Like its predecessor, the new generation Comp VentureMax is influenced by those life experiences, but some adds new features – continuing to inspire riders to chase gravel and other mixed surface adventures. Aero-shaped 38x22.5mm ergonomic tops offer a more comfortable hand position, while drilling for a Shimano EW-RS910 junction box expands the adaptability of the WCS VentureMax.
Multiple hand positions are key for comfort and confidence on any ride, and the WCS VentureMax offers plenty of options there – especially with its wide 24-degree flare at the drops. But it’s the return of the Bio-bend in the drop that adds yet another design element that is practical and comfortable for whatever surface you choose to ride upon and for however long your adventure endures.
The flattened 38x22.5mm top section provides a comfortable area for resting hands
Compatible with Shimano EW-RS910 junction box
Width is measured at the initial bend rather than at the hood

A few years back we started playing around with wider bars on our mountain bikes. Trendy? Yes. Beneficial? Absolutely. It wasn't simply the idea to go big, but a deeper look at the geometry of a mountain bike. Through this, we discovered that wider bars had a few killer benefits: more stability, further control, and extra comfort.
As we began designing the Coast Drop Bar, these lessons of the wide MTB bar intrigued us. Does a wider drop-bar provide extra stability and control? Why yes, yes it does. And let's chat comfort—the combination of a wider bar with a shorter stem and shallower drop provides ergonomic relief to the wrists and neck.
These are bars that you can pump while sprinting, drop into while cruising, and handle the hoods with agility and ease. Now, shape and ergonomics aren't the only important things—material is key. We opted for a 6061 alloy to control vibrations while remaining light and nimble. Like a ski with a snappy core that pops and carves at the slightest intention, these bars use the unique dimensions and ideal material to give you playful freedom. Like any good burrito…width is important.
- Dual-finish sandblast/polished black anodized
- 65mm Reach - Works with shallow drop and exaggerated flare to make switching body position easy
- 105mm Drop - Shallow Drop for when aero isn't everything and comfort is
- 20° Flare - Combo of shallow drop and 20° flare provides more wrist comfort while moving back and forth between grips and hoods

Light weight, comfort, and strength: the new SL-70 Ergo is the ultimate handlebar for long days in the saddle. The SL-70 Ergo combines the flat bar top shape of the beloved Contour SL bar with numerous modern features sought after by riders and pro bike fitters. The SL-70 Ergo sports a 70mm reach and 128mm drop. The short 70mm reach has been a popular choice in recent years, as it allows bike fitters flexibility in achieving a comfortable position without sacrificing steering control. The drop utilizes a variable radius, allowing for multiple hand positions and deeper movement into the drop. As a result, reach to the brake lever is shorter. A 3° backsweep on the flat tops keeps the wrist in a comfortable position, essential for long days on pavement or gravel, while the 10° ramp angle provides a smooth transition to modern shifter hoods. Brake and shifter housing is elegantly hidden along the underside of the bar.
- Updated distinctive Zipp cosmetics
- Unidirectional carbon built for stiffness, comfort, and light weight
- Flattened top shape with 3° backsweep for comfort
- Variable radius drop for multiple hand positions and deeper movement into the drop.
- Lifetime warranty

On today's road bikes, silver stands out amid the sea of stealthy black color schemes. This time-honored handlebar color is available on the Zipp Service Course 70 XPLR, our newest drop-bar offering. The bar's moniker, XPLR, exemplifies the desire to explore the world with an expanded definition of cycling on a drop bar bicycle — from paved roads to gravel, mud, dirt, and even singletrack. The Service Course 70 XPLR helps you go faster by placing your body, starting with your hands, in an optimal "comfort zone" position for hours of rough riding over mixed terrain. Whether on a two-hour training ride from home or a 200-mile gravel adventure, today's riders demand more of their cockpit: comfort, control, and the ability to carry what they need. We met these needs by creating a bar with shallow and wide drops while focusing on two crucial metrics — outsweep and flare.
- Bar drops provide a wider, balanced, and secure position with drops that are about 6cm wider than the hoods position for technical or intense riding.
- The 70 XPLR features an ergonomic top with an extended 100mm clamping area for computer mounts, aero-extensions, bags, and whatever else you may need for the long haul.
- Reach: 70mm
- Drop: 115mm

Zipp's Vuka Bull base bar is the perfect starting point for triathletes and time trial specialists building a high-tech aero cockpit. It's packed with innovations for fit, function, and speed. For aerodynamic efficiency, the carbon Vuka Bull utilizes the watt-saving wing-shape of Zipp's SL-70 Aero bar. Its design also is based on feedback from professional bike fitters, so athletes can maintain optimal aero position. The Vuka Bull is designed to be wide enough to help you control your bike in corners and climb comfortably but narrow enough to not slow you down when you are in the aerobars focusing on fast. The clamping area is wide enough to allow a wide range of armrest positions using the Zipp Vuka Clip. The Vuka Bull features a flip design that gives it a rise or drop, allowing you to have your hands where you need them. This available rise provides athletes with the option to keep the base bar as low as possible while still being able to raise the armrests and extensions where they need to be. Also, a slightly higher hand position can help athletes climb steeper grades. The Vuka Bull is designed with Zipp's Rapid Route technology, now with the ability to move control cables, hoses, and wires through the stem clamp area, making it compatible with modern integrated cockpit systems.
- Wide enough for control—narrow enough to keep you aero
- Designed to allow you to find your fastest position
- Aerodynamic wing shape designed using the CFD-proven wing shape from the SL-70 Aero
- Rapid Routing cable exits are positioned for easy installation of brake cables, now with routing through the stem clamp area
- Updated Zipp cosmetics that scream speed: matte carbon with gloss black logo
